After a long waiting period that stretched across the entire event window, the WSL Lexus Pipe Pro 2025 delivered a spectacular showdown in its final days. On Day 3, the penultimate day of competition, Pipeline and Backdoor finally came alive with solid 8 to 12-foot waves, creating the kind of high-performance surfing that everyone had been waiting to see. The energy on the beach was electric, and as the swell intensified, the atmosphere in the water became absolutely explosive.

Finals day saw a slight drop in wave size and consistency, but the clean conditions and favorable winds ensured a world-class performance from the surfers. The crowd was treated to an epic battle, especially in the final heat, where Barron Mamiya edged out Leonardo Fioravanti in a nail-biting showdown.
The final started with an explosive opening from Barron, who wasted no time locking in two excellent scores within the first five minutes—a 9.8 and an 8.17. His aggressive and precise approach made it seem like he had already secured victory early on.

For the first half of the heat, Leo remained strategically patient, but when he finally struck, he did so in spectacular fashion. The Italian put everything on the line, delivering two back-to-back excellent rides, scoring 8.87 and 9.10, effectively closing the gap with just nine minutes left on the clock.
Despite the intense exchange, Barron still held the highest wave total and priority, putting Fioravanti in a difficult position. Though the Italian fought back hard and managed to break free from a high-scoring combination, he couldn't quite match Barron’s best wave—securing the Hawaiian’s victory at the legendary Pipeline.
With this win, Mamiya cements his status as one of the best Pipeline surfers of his generation, while Fioravanti’s incredible performance proves he is a force to be reckoned with on the world stage.
